Jr High Drop Out

The Coup Clutz Clan Strikes

I'm sad, but not surprised. This was the inevitable final chapter of the story. Trump, our antagonist, pulls the final lever, calling forth his minions to overrun the other leaders.

I think what's most sad to me, though, is that I haven't seen a protagonist revealed in this story yet. It's just just an ensemble cast of peasants slowly overthrowing the despot one vote at a time. There's no great moment when the evil lay broken at our feet in a puddle of orange spray tan oil and clumps of thin yellowing hair. No satisfying clamor as the hero rises one final time to vanquish the dragon. No. There's only the dull thud of disappointment as Trump walks off casually having been ostensibly thwarted in his attempt to destroy everything we hold dear.
